Description

I’ve spent the last week or so learning how to use Blender’s volumetric system. My goal is to create 3D nebulae but I still have quite a bit to figure out. This first attempt is pretty rough yet and not quite what I initially had in mind, but I think it’s a nice proof-of-concept for now.

I’m really liking some of these new effects. Similar to the could effects in Hideaway, I find these really nice with an almost painted kind of look. I think it would be cool if you revisited the Overseer with your new programs.

Loved the colors. The teal gives a sense of peace and quiet, while the orange energizes the right size of the scene. I noticed the links to the MacOS triple-screens are missing, not sure if it’s a broken link or it’s still not available.

I agree with the comments so far. I really like the green and red-orange colors. Just looking at the thumbnail, it could almost be taken as an abstract. Whatever you do with it, I really hope you will preserve this version, perhaps in the pickle jar.

Awesome, so cool, what worlds lie with in? Great Render my friend

As always, Ryan, when you tinker with new tools you create such fun works. Like John mentioned, my perception of this image was looking up at a night sky in a foreign world. Keep having fun and letting your imagination run wild!

Very cool idea! Once you get your nebulae the way you want them, you’ll have fantastic additions to your planetscapes – in any shape you want!

It’s like that chef friend to who cooks all the time and shares, except you don’t have to be in-person to partake.. and there’s zero risk of food poisoning. It’s not a perfect metaphor. Thanks for sharing your work. Looking forward to the nebula.

I like it – though my first thought was “alien clouds” not a nebulae
