Description

I’ve wanted to try my hand at a “Gargantua” type black hole for a while now but it wasn’t until I caught the film “Samsara” recently that and idea for the foreground came to me. I hope you enjoy my interpretation.

I love it because it combines some of my favourite things:Planetscapes, Black Holes, and that feeling of majestic serenity.

  2. Cara [basicmember]

The R side is missing. 🙁

  3. GrnRaptor [lifer]

Found the triple screen 1050 Pickle under all resolutions. Thanks! 🙂

  4. Pete [lifer]

I love this picture, but for some reason, it doesn’t have a 3:2 crop. Any chance we could get one?

  5. GrnRaptor [lifer]

Would it be possible to get dual and triple screen renders of the pickle jar variant in the 1050 range as well? I don’t see them under the present list.

  6. DJ [basicmember]

I really like the composition overall, but not the figure – I’d really like a version without the figure. I prefer my walls people-less, so to speak.

  7. Ryan [lifer]

This is good stuff. Would love to see you explore more with the Yoga / Meditation theme. Lots of potential here. Thanks for the great work!

  8. Heather [lifer]

If you?re borrowing ?Gargantua? from Interstellar shouldn?t it be more black? After all it is a black hole. I love the color, but I feel like it?s also too much of one color.

  9. Nathan Zachary [lifer]

Even though the figure is supposed to be a focal point of the piece, it really detracts from the overall scene for me.

  10. RDC [nonmonthly]

I think the black hole would make a pretty good render by itself.

  11. GrnRaptor [lifer]

This looks awesome, but the addition of a yogi is really distracting, especially since he sits right in the middle of the reflection of the black hole.

  12. BobC [lifer]

There’s a lot to like about this render – the lighting, the colors, the fantasy landscape. To me it doesn’t fit together as a cohesive image. There are elements of beautiful planetscape, fantasy image, serene spirituality (with slightly weird meditator), and ominous (but beautiful) black hole. There are so many disparate elements in the picture that it is hard to appreciate the overall theme. (Not a fan of the “bookends” composition.)

I love this render, never seen the film, but I really love the other worldly SyFy scene of this render. The colours and lighting make this a great Planetscape, great job my friend.

  14. Shao Lang [lifer]

I don’t know what it is about this render that doesn’t fit quite right. I know you worked hard at this, and lord knows I couldn’t do anything like this myself, but this is not your best work, but it is good enough

  15. Brandi U. [liferplus]

Love it. The energy coming off the black hole is fabulous.

  16. Aslan [liferplus]

Not seen the film but I love this one.

That said, I’m also not 100% sure the figure in the foreground Perhaps it’s the seated position…

  17. Littlemom [liferplus]

I realize this is my opinion but to me it’s not your best render. The black hole doesn’t look convincing, and the person on the rock doesn’t really fit with the scene. Although it’s not my favorite of yours I will of course still add it to my DB collection. I look forward to either an update on this one or your next render. Keep up the good work.

    Is that a T-800 Terminator?

  19. Stephen [lifer]

Just need a dude big enough to ride that thing now! ;D

  20. Phil C. [basicmember]

I don’t remember anything like that in the movie, but I don’t care. This is awe-inspiring. 🙂
