I’ve reset to the season to summertime for this nighttime version of “Goldenwalk“. I’ve been taking lots of walks over the past year or so and have been trying to bring my family along whenever possible. My son Ian prefers to walk at night so we’ve gone on quite a few “nightwalks” (as he calls them) this summer. Our neighborhood looks quite a bit like this render (when all the fireflies are active). On one particular nightwalk we encountered a cat that followed us almost the entire time. I added him to the scene 🙂
Firefly season is literally the only reason to go outside in the south in summer…but it *is* enough reason! This scene captures everything right about it.
I LOVE this picture set because it captures the Beauty of this same exact location in this unique season! Each one is absolutely Fantastic to look at and the cat was a nice touch! =D
The watermark is too prominent with this one. I miss the old watermark which was more subtle & appealing. This one is grating on the eyes. Otherwise, great render.
What size image are did you download??
Growing up on the west coast I’ve not had the opportunity to see fireflies, even when I visited my family in the south didn’t get to see em, but this makes up for it. Absolutely beautiful â¼ï¸
The night scene is just beautiful. Also vote for a Halloween version ….
This series is Beautiful
This series is Beautiful
That’s what I think of when I view this one…it’s dreamlike almost to ethereal. Yet, so damb peaceful, it calms you right away. There’s things to see here, so give it more than a glance. You’ll be blessed.

Hi Ryan, I think that there is a problem with the multiscreens. On the foreground tree near the centre of the image, a little more than halfway up, there is a strange vertical streak of colour.
I love it. But I thought the cat had three legs too. 😉

Yes, I have saved off the fall render for later this year, but glad to have a lovely summery one!
The cat made me think of Halloween – all that’s needed in this render is some Jack-o-lanterns along the path, a slenderman, or headless horseman and we’re back into fall!
I lived off a dirt road in southern Illinois for several years. I have many memories of walking down the quiet road, silence broken only by the squeaking of distant pumpjacks, with fireflies blinking away by the hundreds along the trees lining the road. It’s one of the things I miss about living in Illinois, and you’ve captured it perfectly in both your art and the narrative. Great work, Ryan.
Hope the memories you have made from your walks are even more beautiful than this rendering (and it is magnificent!) Thanks!
I love the peacefulness that this render it’s so beautiful.
Ah, now it’s even better!
Bob said what I was thinking. I’m in total agreement.
Have always loved the darker night bluish scenes!
This is my new favorite!
I love this in every way. I particularly like the fireflies and the cat. (No, it doesn’t have three legs; that’s just the way it’s standing.)

Wow… turned out way better than I was expecting! And what a nice way to remember the cat. Bravo! 😀
It’s an illusion, the cat does have four legs 🙂
Looking at the larger renderings, it almost looks like the cat is missing a front leg?
