Description

Growing up in flat Illinois I’ve always been fascinated with clouds intersecting land. Where I come from they are always in the sky. With this scene I was trying to learn some new techniques for rendering misty clouds and trying to keep the render times reasonable. I hope you enjoy it!

Wow! Pllllease do a fall version with all yellow aspens. Reminds me of I-70 corridor west of Denver. Brilliant work Ryan!

  2. Joe Kraxner [lifer]

This is a great view of *my* mountains in Colorado!

  3. Zorz [basicmember]

    incredible!

  4. tboward [donormember]

The detail and lighting on the trees is impressive.

  5. Ryan

Not sure why I forgot to upload that one. Sorry! It should be there now.

  6. Lee [basicmember]

Will that resolution be in the plans?

  7. Owen [lifer]

You should make a version for Autumn, Winter, and Christmas.

  8. Jenanne [liferplus]

A truly wonderful render, Ryan. How about a twilight or night version? That would rock!

I can smell the pine and feel the moisture on my skin in this one! This would be my happy place. As others have said, I can’t wait for the multi-screen version. Beautiful render, Ryan!!

  10. Tyler [lifer]

Hugely inspiring and as others have said, realistic. To me this is in the same league as Highland Spring. A piece of art that makes you feel something. Absolutely can’t wait for the multi.

This is my favourite DB wallpaper ever. Photo realistic. Adventure. Moody. Genuine sense of place. But with enough details in it to make you wonder what’s happening there underneath those clouds, or behind the trees. Who’s down there? What are they doing? Is there an ancient place of wonder? Or something sinister? Love it!

Absolutely gorgeous. One of your best ever.

Bryan, this is one of the more realistic works I have seen from you and I like it very much although I am more of a fan of your abstractions!

  16. Fvr [liferplus]

It’s very realistic! As already said below, it really looks like a photo. What a very impressive work.

This truly looks like a photograph. I never thought Illinois was that flat, but this reminds me of driving over the Cuyahoga Valley in the early morning. This is my favorite so far. Can’t wait for the dual screen. Thank you for all of your beautiful work.

Ryan, beautiful work. Those are, to me, the most impressive foliage you have ever created. The mix of species, coloring, size, leaf shape, etc. is absolutely perfect for the scene. The way the confiders climb out of the mist is really a cool touch.

I think you nailed the “misty clouds against background terrain,” Ryan. If you want to try a different one this happens a good bit in dry country, too, including several times I visited the Grand Canyon.

    Great work. Beautiful image.

You have just about out done yourself with this one Ryan. It’s so beautiful. It’s a perfect 10 for me!!! and I don’t give out 10’s lightly. You’ve nailed the clouds perfectly. Great job!!!

This is absolutely amazing. Great work

This looks really great but I was truly blown away when I viewed the lossless master. The detail in the trees and the wisps of the clouds are stunning when looked at up close. I love this. New desktop wallpaper for me.

    One of your best
