A night version of this scene was inevitable given the subject matter. The real trick with a good night scene is to make it dark but also have details in the right places so it isn’t just too flat. Sometimes I have to rely on moonlight if the scene is uninhabited, but this time I have a little help.
I do like the day version better, but this is brilliant as well.
Love this, the more I look at it, the better the detail, the lighthouse is spectacularly stunning, great job my friend
Again, Ryan, well done! One very minor nitpick: the interior lighting is too bright. Remember, lighthouses, at least the manned versions like this one, hearken back to a time way before high-efficiency, bright LED (or even good incandescent) lighting. I would expect from this perspective that the windows up the side of the light, and perhaps the door below, would be emitting a much, much dimmer ambient light. This is, overall, a near-trivial point, and I still absolutely love the piece!
The night scene is really good and appreciated:)
thank you for your effort
There is a surprising and disappointing lack of lighthouse wallpapers out there so this is appreciated. A land POV of the lighthouse in front of the sea – similar to the ‘Pharos by Night’ from 2002 – would also be great. But for now I’m just glad we finally got a modern HD lighthouse wallpaper from you. The sea POV here worked surprisingly well.
Thank you for noticing! I really wanted this one to look different from some of the others I’d done recently 🙂
This is a different color scheme with a different misty/smoky style from the night renders you’ve done recently. Stirring!
I *love* lighthouses. This reminds me of the Apostle Islands, though the islands don’t have bug cliffs. A couple of the lights look like this.
A perfect 10!!!
