Effusia

Multi-Screen Render

I know it’s been a little while since I’ve added any new artwork to the gallery. These past 10 days or so I’ve been working behind the scenes with Member Cris Henderson on a shiny new DB 2.0 and we’ve made some amazing progress. I think you are going to love it!

In between bouts of coding and debugging I did manage to do a little more work with VUE’s function editor using some of the geometry from “The Flourish” plus some new objects that I designed in Plant Factory.

The downloads for this project were all generated using the new system I will be using so please let me know if anything looks different about the watermark that you are used to! We are still tweaking them.

Feel free to ask Cris questions or make suggetions on the Discord channel (he’s Member @infugia). I hope you enjoy the new render! multiscreens coming soon!!

Created and rendered on Shadowfax and Rochallor. Non-watermarked lossless 8K version is available to Lifetime Supporters and Plus Level Members (and above).

Sanctuary (Night)

Multi-Screen Render

I often enjoy doing night time versions of my day scenes (and vice versa) so I thought I would try it for Sanctuary as well. To be honest I probably spent a bit too much time trying different ideas that didn’t really work for me. This is the one I ended up disliking the least so I thought I would share it. I may add some of the others to the Pickle Jar shortly and may continue tinkering with this scene. Let me know what you think!

Created and rendered on Shadowfax and Rochallor. Non-watermarked lossless 8K version is available to Lifetime Supporters and Plus Level Members (and above). Dual and triple-screen versions need a bit of work still.

Sanctuary

Multi-Screen Render

Over the past couple of years I’ve gotten more and more into flower gardening as a warm-weather hobby. It’s very relaxing and fun to see them flourish. A few nights ago I sat down and started making some flower pots using Plant Factory, which lead to me needing to build an environment for them.

The environment here is fantasy of course but the container garden itself is a little homage to my summertime diversion. Long time fans may recognize the title from this early work…

The Flourish

Multi-Screen Render

I created this abstract in Plant Factory to learn how to do some things with E-On’s function editor that I could only do in Lightwave before. There’s a lot of power there that I haven’t really tapped yet. Be on the lookout for Pickle Jar and/or alternate versions of this one if I am able to some more interesting techniques.

I hope you enjoy it!

Dragon Teeth

I was looking through my old Vue files a few weeks ago on Bucephalus and found this empty canyon that I’d modeled using Zbrush back in the Aughts. Pretty sure I didn’t get around to rendering it at the time because it was going to monopolize my rendering for over a week. The mesas eventually become “Shrouded Desert” but this was my original scene.

Well, the render time only went up when I populated the canyon with trees but I decided that I did not mind since I now have two other machines I can work on. I have quite a few of these old scenes that I never finished so that could be another job for Bucephalus.
