Reservoir (Winter/Night)

Multi-Screen Render

Happy Thanksgiving to those of you celebrating today. We are about to enjoy our meal (just Jess and the kids this year) but I thought I would share this render first. It’s a night version of my new “Reservoir” winter scene that I rendered by request.

Check the Pickle Jar for an interesting alternate version.

It’s been a crazy year but I think that makes it even more important to focus on the positive. I’m very thankful for my health, family, and for having a job I love which also makes people happy.

Yes, that means I’m thankful for you 🙂

Reservoir (Winter)

Multi-Screen Render

I actually created this desert lake last week as a colorful springtime scene and had meant to post it on Friday. Looking at the calendar, however, I decided it might be more interesting to turn it into a winter scene and share that version first.

I hope you enjoy it!

The Vale of Selene

Multi-Screen Render

Jessie saw this one and said it looked like a cross between Ansel Adams and Vincent Van Gogh. I’d say that pretty good company. The multiscreen framing will take a bit more work for me to figure out so stay tuned for that.

Trying some new techniques here so I hope you enjoy it. This is one of those scenes that I probably wouldn’t have attempted before Rochallor. Thanks again to everyone who helped me build this incredible machine.

Ouranos

Multi-Screen Render

Inspired by one of the distant ice giants in our own solar system. This particular planet has the unique property that it’s rotational axis is tilted perpendicularly to the sun. I’ve created lots of planetscapes over the years but never one like that so it sounded like an interesting challenge. The foreground was modeled using Gaea.

PS: I chose the pre-anglicized version of this particular Greek deity’s name to keep the distraction to a minimum 😀

Stormtide

Multi-Screen Render

I knew when I created “Descension” that wanted to try a day version but the brown dwarf/gas giant planet didn’t really fit with the mood I wanted for it. Quite a few folks mentioned to me that such a planet would have severe weather and tides, so I decided to add a storm and change the sea level a bit (the beach is new in this scene).

The mood is different but I hope you still enjoy it. Multiscreen version coming soon!
