Summer Overlook

After creating “Autumn Overlook” I received many requests to create seasonal views of the scene.   I’m all too happy to oblige.   For those of you who aren’t yet ready for Fall and Winter here’s the overlook in Summertime.     One of those blessed cool mornings before the day gets hot. Autumn Overlook

It’s probably no secret that I love creating Autumn landscapes and take great inspiration from the turning of the seasons.     I usually start wanting to create them long before the leaves start changing color or the air cools.    For this scene I’ve imagined an overlook above some rolling foothills fading to a mountain covered with peak fall foliage.   It’s very flat where I live and I’ve never actually had the opportunity to see a scene like this with my own eyes.   Hopefully it’s not too far from reality.   I’d love to travel to some hill country to see fall colors someday!

Fall Ephemeral (Evening)

A number of folks requested a “night” version of “Fall Ephemeral”.   I’d already done a moonlit version of the scene so I wanted to do something a bit different this time.   It occurred to me that a version with the sun hanging low and a dark sky would make the autumn leaves pop.    I hope you enjoy it!

Fall Ephemeral

My desire to create Autumn imagery usually kicks in well before the leaves begin to change colors.   To start things off in 2024 here’s an Autumn version of “Spring Eternal” that I created on Shadowfax while a brand new Fall landscape rendered on my main workstation.    I hope you enjoy it!

Opalescence (Ice)

Here’s a version of “Opalescence” where I’ve attempted to learn to use Octane’s volumetric fog.   It added quite a bit of render time and was very interesting to learn.   Someday I will be rendering my landscapes using Octane and C4D (VUE development has been halted) so I had better learn how to use the fog 🙂
